Government Updates Advice

On 12 February 2026 the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) updated its advice for victims of murder or manslaughter abroad. The new advice is called Murder or manslaughter of British nationals abroad: organisational roles and responsibilities. This replaces the Memorandum of Understanding that it had peviously published.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has written a 'plain English guide' for bereaved families, published in January this year, to which Murdered Abroad contributed.
