Members’ Wellbeing Conference, London, 15 Nov 2025

Once again, the Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the River Thames kindly allowed us to hold our London meeting in their historic and elegant Watermen’s Hall.

26 members, representing 18 families and 3 members of the HELLO MARY Production Team gathered for round the room introductions. HELLO MARY had contacted our trustees to ask if any of Murdered Abroad families would share their stories on National Television as they have been commissioned by ITV to make a documentary, “Murder Under the Sun”.

Matthew Gordon (Series Producer), Steve Regan (Chief Executive) Joanna Suchomska (Assistant Producer) explained the structure of each of the six episodes. Also that they would travel to the participants home town and how the focus would be on the victims and the effects on their families, both at the time of the murder and the months and years following. Individuals had a chance to discuss their cases in more depth during the buffet lunch.

The day was deemed useful by all. Our members had a clear understanding of what was being asked of them and HELLO MARY had a greater understanding of the depth and breadth of the trauma and obstacles people face when a loved one is murdered in another country.
